The Brief: To create a film showcasing the scale of the new Toranomon Hills development in the heart of Tokyo, and the role of Tokyo Metro in connecting it. We had footage from inside Toranomon Hills Station, but finding up-to-date exterior footage proved tricky. The development focused on four key buildings, some so new that there simply wasn't stock footage available.
The Result: With no aerial footage showing the completed district, we took a more creative approach. Our graphic designer created an illustrated map of the district, picking out the four key buildings against Tokyo's sprawling skyline. We then used AI transitions to move between the illustration and the real-world footage we had available, blending the two visual styles into one flowing sequence.
The aim wasn't to use AI to invent a version of Tokyo that didn't exist, but to bridge the gaps between illustration and reality. It gave us a visually engaging way to tell the story while keeping the real development at the heart of the film.
